Music Monday's: Malcolm McLaren - Duck Rock
Malcolm Mclaren's Album "DUCK ROCK" was released in 1983. Its eclectic mix of influences from Africa, Latin America and The Caribbean was and still is a benchmark for the true meaning of Hip Hop. Laced with the radio voices from "The world famous supreme team show" this album conveys a real feel for inner city New York of the late 70's early 80's. It also brought Breakdancing and Double Dutch skipping to the attention of the world in a way that no one else had done to that date. Buffalo Girls Reached and Double Dutch were both Big hits on the Early Hip Hop scene in England and both were featured on TOP OF THE POPS... ! ! It is still a "Must Have" Album for any collector of records.... Released on Virgin UK.
